A mountain of endemic species<\/span><\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][gt3_spacing height=”24px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1688557914584{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]\n

They say that this mountain has 2 parts \u2013 one is the eastern and the second part is the western. The eastern part of the mountain is connected to Fojnica and the highest peak on this part is Smiljeva Kosa with a height of 1871 m above sea level, while Vitreu\u0161a is the highest peak of the western part with a height of 1919 m above the sea level, which makes it the highest peak of Zec mountain. The Neretvica River, the most important tributary of the wild, emerald green beauty Neretva River, has a source at a height of 1510 m above sea level. Visitors of the Zec mountain can enjoy the smell of wildflowers, spacious meadows perfect for a walk, the beauty of nature, and calmness. The meadows are rich in cranberries, blueberries, and healing herbs which is especially important for the locals.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][gt3_spacing height=”17px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1723721307378{margin-bottom: 32px !important;}”]\n

On Zec Mountain, the Bosnian endemic species of the white bellflower of Vranica grows which blossoms in July and August and grows only on the mountains that are part of the Vranica massif. Zec Mountain stands out due to the fact there are many ore deposits on it, among which is Bakarne jame, and not far from it, there is a site called Rijetka Kosa that used to be a barite mine 30 years ago.
