Blata\u010dko Lake is situated 1200 meters above the sea level and about a 40-minute ride from the city of Konjic. It’s located in the area of the village of Blace, which unfortunately, not many people know about, except for true alpinists.<\/p>\n

This is a glacial lake located on the Bjela\u0161nica mountain, right on the border with beautiful Viso\u010dica. During the summer, the temperature of the water reaches 22\u00b0C, but during the winter, it’s covered with snow and frozen.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][gt3_spacing height=”17px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1688558990840{margin-bottom: 32px !important;}”]\n

The lake was originally used for the needs of cattle, and represented an exception because this part of Bjela\u0161nica is poor in water \u2013 no springs nor other form of water.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][gt3_spacing height=”20px”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1690113428376{margin-bottom: 0px !important;padding-left: 35px !important;}”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1688559033618{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]\n

The surrounding of the lake is rich in terms of cultural and historical heritage with medieval tombstones called ste\u0107ci and ni\u0161ani and along with the deep canyon of the Rakitnica River, it creates a cultural landscape and the National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina. \nIt is surrounded by pastures and dominated by low vegetation and deciduous trees, mostly beech.
