The Old Stone Bridge is a stone bridge ornamenting the old city of Konjic over the everlasting Neretva River. It represents a magnificent example of Ottoman bridge architecture in the Balkans and is listed as a National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was originally built in 1682 by Ali-aga Hase\u010di\u0107 and officially opened in 1683.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][gt3_spacing height=”17px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1688626044641{margin-bottom: 32px !important;}”]\n

Unfortunately, the Old Stone Bridge was demolished on March 3, 1945, during the withdrawal of the German army, after which a wooden structure stood for a long time, and served for crossing from one to another coast of the Neretva River. It was rebuilt to its original state and re-opened on June 16, 2009, with the help of the Government of the Republic of Turkey.
