Prkanj mosque is located on the left shore of the Neretva River, ideally situated in heart of the old town,
\nonly a short walk from the Old stone bridge. In heart of the old town<\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][gt3_spacing height=”24px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1724066869639{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]\n

The mosque was originally covered with a slab, but after it was returned to the Islamic community of Konjic, the slab was replaced with brick. Unfortunately, the mosque was closed for almost 25 years after the war and served as a warehouse. According to a document from 1788, the mosque in Belgradd\u017eik (the name for a town on the left bank of the Neretva River at that time) was reconstructed by Suleiman Bey.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][gt3_spacing height=”17px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1724066940505{margin-bottom: 32px !important;}”]Hivzija Hasandedi\u0107 also notes that a women\u2019s school was built next to the mosque around 1819. Next to the mosque is a harem where Hajji Zulfikar and many members of the Had\u017eizuki\u0107 family are buried. Among them is Hajji Zulfikar\u2019s Arab slave, the one who killed the famous hajduk Mijat Tomi\u0107.<\/p>\n
