The Banja Luka Student Theatre performed this evening at the Actor\u2019s Festival of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Konjic with the play Idiot<\/em>, based on a text by Muza Pavlova. The production was directed by Muhamed Bahonji\u0107 and Dragoslav Medojevi\u0107, who also appear as actors in the play.Idiot<\/em> is a comedic story about bureaucracy, told from the perspectives of a civil servant and a citizen in need of a document. The play satirically reflects on a phenomenon still very present in today\u2019s society\u2014commonly referred to as \u201cchasing paperwork.\u201d<\/p>\n

Muhamed Bahonji\u0107, who plays the role of the citizen, said that with this play they wanted to raise awareness about the things that surround us.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n

\u201cWe wanted to present these issues in a humorous way\u2014not exactly as they are, but exaggerated. Sometimes, to show something the way it truly is, you have to exaggerate. I’m sure many people have experienced needing a certain certificate, only to be sent back five times, or being asked for a favor, or even money. Unfortunately, that’s the reality\u2014but still, it\u2019s not so widespread that we should be too worried. Let it serve us in theatre as material to create plays, to have fun, and to laugh,\u201d said Bahonji\u0107, who has performed at the Actor\u2019s Festival in Konjic several times before. In contrast, his colleague Dragoslav Medojevi\u0107 participated for the first time in this festival, which celebrates the acting profession.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”21340″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]\n

\u201cThis was my first time performing in Konjic, although I know the festival has a long tradition and that Konjic has always had a strong and respectable amateur theatre scene, both in the past and today. The audience here has been raised with theatre, and performing in front of such a well-versed audience carries a great responsibility\u2014so I did feel a bit of stage fright. In the end, the audience rewarded us with a wonderful round of applause,\u201d said Medojevi\u0107.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”21352″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]\n

Actors Muhamed Bahonji\u0107 and Dragoslav Medojevi\u0107, although retired, continue to perform in plays with great passion.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n

\u201cThere\u2019s still that same passion on stage\u2014the intensity is the same, just in a slightly different form. The enthusiasm you have in youth is different from that in your later years, when you have experience and decades of work behind you. But that enthusiasm definitely remains,\u201d said Medojevi\u0107, who has been involved in theatre for over 50 years.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”21344″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]\n

Actor Bahonji\u0107 has also dedicated his entire life to the theatre.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n

\u201cI started back in elementary school and have truly been involved in theatre for a long time. It\u2019s a wonderful profession, but it requires understanding from the community and an audience that is accustomed to supporting the art of theatre,\u201d said Bahonji\u0107.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n
