<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Upon arriving at the Neretva Konjic Scout Troop camp at Bora\u010dko Lake, we found members making cakes as part of a workshop and choosing which group performed the task best. Each day is fully packed, from waking up at 7 a.m. until dinner time, with activities tailored for all ages.
\nFrom the youngest to those with years of scouting experience \u2014 everyone agrees that camping brings special friendships and unforgettable moments.[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”21766″][vc_column_text]Sumeja Gaki\u0107, a member of the Neretva Konjic Scout Troop, says she looks forward to camping every year and has never missed one so far.
\n\u201cCamping is the best thing about scouting. Scouting teaches us to be independent and helps us make new friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hena Mravovi\u0107 is 11 years old:
\n\u201cI have been a scout for almost four years, and I have never missed a single camping trip.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dilan Greda is at camp for the first time, and as he says, he doesn\u2019t regret listening to his father\u2019s advice to join the scouts:
\n\u201cDad thought it was the best idea for me to start, and this was a great decision. He\u2019s a good dad, and my favorite part of camping is when we go swimming.\u201d[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”21768″][vc_column_text]\n

Rijalda Muji\u0107 is camping with the scouts for the first time and says that starting in September, she will attend regular scout meetings because she liked how the scouts operate. During our visit, Rijalda was assigned to the kitchen along with Emina Mehi\u0107 and Zara Greda.<\/p>\n

Emina says there are many interesting and useful things happening in scouting. That\u2019s why, for the fifth year in a row, she chooses to spend part of her summer vacation at the Neretva Konjic Scout Troop camp.<\/p>\n

Zara Greda has been a scout since 2016 and for the past three years has chosen kitchen duty, saying the kitchen is her favorite place in the camp.
\n\u201cI love being in the kitchen. No matter how tired we get here, my fondest memories are still from the kitchen. Besides the regular meals, there\u2019s always something to surprise the members with \u2014 some sweets, fruit, croissants\u2026 I love hanging out here, especially with our cook Nijaza.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”21770″][vc_column_text]Nijaza Paji\u0107, known to the scouts as Aunt Nijaza, has been preparing meals for them for 12 years. She says she loves working with and around children.
\n\u201cThey love me, and I love them. I have no problems with them. Overall, everyone is great to me, and I think the kids are the best ones to say what they think about me.\u201d<\/p>\n

As soon as they heard her say this, the children responded:
\n\u201cAunt Nijaza is the best woman at camp, and we come here because of her. The food is amazing, we love being on kitchen duty and spending time with Aunt Nijaza, and we love eating the food she prepares for us.\u201d[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”21772″][vc_column_text]\n

We also spoke with the boys for whom this is their second camping experience. Young scouts Faris \u017dujo and Isak Hand\u017ear have already gained new skills, made friends, and met the leaders who teach them scouting knowledge every day.<\/p>\n

They say this is their second camping trip and their second year in a row staying in a bungalow. For friends who haven\u2019t joined the scouts and aren\u2019t here with them at Bora\u010dko Lake, they had one message:
\n\u201cIf they knew how much fun we\u2019re having, they\u2019d come right away!\u201d<\/p>\n

The boys and girls are divided into seven patrols, and with their leaders, they learn every day through play, tasks, and teamwork. The coming days will bring many more challenges, fun, and the scout spirit, says the shift leader Emma Fi\u0161i\u0107:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”21776″][vc_column_text]\u201cThere are 80 of us in the camp, over 60 of whom are children \u2014 precisely 64 \u2014 divided into 7 patrols along with their leaders and patrol guides. Led by the Headquarters, we carry out all tasks. Yesterday, we did the \u2018Last Atom of Strength\u2019 obstacle course. There were many new challenges, and we are making, and will continue to make, efforts in the coming days to introduce new activities that we think will interest them.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a world without internet and screens, surrounded by nature and friends, the scouts from Konjic learn how to be responsible, resourceful, and supportive.<\/p>\n

The older members of the Neretva Konjic Scout Troop are responsible for the children\u2019s activities and safety. The leaders design the activities and ensure that no child lacks anything, Ema stated.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The camp provides first aid services, and in case of a more serious injury, they rely on doctors from the Zenica scout troop.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Every year, changes are visible at the Neretva Konjic Scout Troop camp in terms of infrastructure improvements. Upon entering the camp, on the right side, there are 8 bungalows with 4 beds each, and on the left side, 4 bungalows with 2 beds each and 2 bungalows with 3 beds each, totaling 40 beds in solid structures, plus the space above the kitchen. The rest are tents.<\/p>\n

Let us recall that the process of selecting and purchasing new tents is currently underway, which will contribute to an even more comfortable stay at the camp. Additionally, the construction of a new sanitary facility is expected to begin soon.
\nAll of these are significant investments, but as the mayor of Konjic emphasized during the 2025 Scout Meetings, investing in youth is always justified. The ongoing support from the City of Konjic and Mayor Osman \u0106ati\u0107 is evident through the kitchen equipment upgrades at the camp, the construction of bungalows, the procurement of accompanying equipment, and much more.<\/div>\n
