Today, the \u201cShelter\u201d<\/strong> exhibition opened at Tito\u2019s Bunker<\/strong>, organized by the Sarajevo Cultural Olympics<\/strong>, under the auspices of the Council of Europe<\/strong> and UNESCO<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Artnauts Collective<\/strong> from the United States.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The City of Konjic<\/strong> provided support for the implementation of this project, with the \u201cFirst Step\u201d Economic Development Agency<\/strong> from Konjic as a partner.<\/p>\n

Seventy artists from around the world have exhibited their works at Tito\u2019s Bunker<\/strong>, some of whom were present today. The exhibition will remain open for one month.<\/p>\n

As part of the exhibition at Tito\u2019s Bunker<\/strong>, a roundtable was held, with opening speakers including Ibrahim Spahi\u0107<\/strong>, founder and art director of the Sarajevo Cultural Olympics<\/strong>, George Riviera<\/strong>, head of the Artnauts Collective<\/strong>, Pamela Beverly<\/strong>, who selected the exhibited works, and Emir Klepo<\/strong>, dean of Burch University for Film and Photography<\/strong>. On behalf of the City of Konjic<\/strong>, Biljana Hand\u017eo<\/strong> welcomed the attendees.<\/p>\n

The theme of the \u201cShelter\u201d<\/strong> exhibition explores the concept of a shelter as a place that provides temporary protection from harsh weather or danger. The exhibition presents works that address protection, refuge, and safety<\/strong>, all within the context of contemporary global challenges.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to thank the City of Konjic<\/strong>, the Cultural Center<\/strong>, and the First Step Agency<\/strong> for supporting the project called \u2018Shelter within a Shelter\u2019<\/strong> at Tito\u2019s Bunker<\/strong>, as well as for the excellent response from both the public and the artists regarding the concept of the exhibition, which was opened in honor of the 80th anniversary of the United Nations Charter<\/strong>. At the same time, it represents support for the transformation of the modern world\u2014from a period and time of war, violence, and conflict\u2014to what could be hope for humanity: peace, cooperation, and mutual respect. Artists from different parts of the world are in Bosnia and Herzegovina today, in Konjic. Seventy of them have exhibited their works in Sarajevo and other locations. Many artists are participating in this project, known as the Sarajevo Cultural Olympics 2025<\/strong>, and we chose Konjic for this program together with the Artnauts group<\/strong> from the USA and other countries, in collaboration with various institutions. This has shown that this facility, Tito\u2019s Bunker<\/strong>, and this city have an extraordinary opportunity to showcase their remarkable heritage, which is not only woodwork\u2014significant for over a century\u2014but also extends beyond the artifacts in the Heritage Museum to the people themselves,\u201d said Spahi\u0107<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The artists, who during the day visited the Woodcarving Museum<\/strong>, the Konjic Heritage Museum<\/strong>, and the birthplace of Zuko D\u017eumhur<\/strong>, discussed the themes of their works at the roundtable.<\/p>\n

The exhibition organizers also donated books to the City Library of NU Konjic<\/strong>, while the Konjic National University<\/strong> provided technical support for the event.<\/p>\n

The event was also attended by students from Konjic High School<\/strong>, who toured Tito\u2019s Bunker<\/strong> with the artists.<\/p>\n
