May in Konjic traditionally takes place in the spirit of culture and art, and the coming days bring a special musical experience. The \u201cRezonanca\u201d Elementary Music School is preparing a concert series titled \u201cThree May Evenings of Harmony\u201d, which will undoubtedly enrich the cultural scene of our city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concerts will be held on May 18, 20, and 21, 2026, starting at 7:00 PM in the beautiful setting of the Bosnian Room at the National University of Konjic. Admission is free for all visitors.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We spoke with the school\u2019s principal, Biljana Hand\u017eo, about what the audience can expect, how the preparations have been going, and which departments will present themselves to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 70 Students Bring the Magic of Classical and Pop-Rock Music
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Principal Hand\u017eo emphasizes that May is traditionally the most active month for the school, when all the effort and quiet work throughout the school year culminate in beautiful public performances.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe started the second semester a week earlier in order to complete the full curriculum on time. All students and learners of our school are taking part in these May concerts. This used to be a single evening, then two, and now it has become three evenings of harmony, as the school today has over 70 students. We want to give every child the opportunity to show what they have learned,\u201d Hand\u017eo explains.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students will perform in the violin, guitar, piano, and accordion departments, with the accordion department introduced last year as a new program and already recording an excellent response with six new students. A special attraction is also the pop-rock department, intended for students who have completed the classical program but have chosen to continue their musical education in more modern styles and rhythms.

For young musicians, performing in front of an audience represents a special challenge, but also a mandatory part of their education that builds self-confidence and helps overcome stage fright.

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur teachers carefully select a more engaging program that is not too demanding for the audience. At the concerts, there is also a clear dress code, because classical music performances are also a lesson in etiquette and stage culture. Our greatest reward is seeing proud parents, as well as the smiles on the faces of children who attend our school purely out of love,\u201d the principal emphasizes.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The success of the students is also credited to a dedicated team of teachers who come to Konjic from Sarajevo and Mostar, along with the only teacher from Konjic, Professor Emela Osman\u010devi\u0107. The team includes: Lidija \u010covi\u0107 and Sarah \u0160a\u010di\u0107 (violin), Emir Be\u010dirovi\u0107 (guitar), Ivana \u010celik and Konjic native Emela Osman\u010devi\u0107 (piano), and Enis Sihirli\u0107 (solfeggio, piano, and accordion).

Announcement: Ballet Spectacle, Competition Participation, and Enrollment Period<\/strong>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the instrumental program, \u201cRezonanca\u201d in Konjic is also recording great success with its ballet and dance department, led by Professor Samra Mlinar Mandi\u0107, which brings together 40 girls and one boy.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey are currently intensively preparing for the upcoming competition in Mostar (May 23), where they will travel with as many as 14 choreographies in the categories of baby ballet and creative dance. Already on June 9, at the cinema hall in Konjic, the audience will be able to enjoy their full-length ballet program, which promises a great atmosphere similar to the winter project \u2018Broadway on the Neretva\u2019. The school\u2019s grand final concert, marking World Music Day, is scheduled for June 26.\u201d

Open Call for Applications for the New School Year!<\/strong>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Principal Biljana Hand\u017eo took the opportunity to invite everyone interested in the music school:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe public call for enrollment in the new school year is already open. Due to spatial capacity and the number of classrooms, the number of places is limited. We invite all interested candidates to apply as soon as possible in order to avoid crowds in September. Entrance exams will be held at the beginning of June.\u201d
