Boračko Lake is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes and is located at the foot of Prenj Mountain. The lake basin was created in Boracka Draga by the process of glacial erosion and is the only glacial lake in this part.
Emerald paradise within reach of Konjic
This is a place that represents a true paradise for the youth, a home of scouts, and a perfect place for enjoying fish specialties. The unreal crystal clear water reaches 25°C in August, and in February it’s the coldest at 0°C. Boračko Stream (Borački Potok) and numerous surrounding springs supply Boračko Lake with water. The Šištica River flows out of the Boračko Lake, which forms an incredible 30–meter–high waterfall that flows into the Neretva River.
The beauty of the lake is reflected in its biodiversity which makes this a real paradise for fishermen. Many fish species enrich the fauna of the Boračko Lake such as carp, brown trout, rainbow trout, and noble crayfish (Astacus astacus).
Edges of the lake are decorated by water lilies and reeds that grow there, as well as the unique view of the surrounding mountains, Bjelašnica, Visočica, and Prenj which add up to the beauty of the Boračko Lake. Boračko Lake is a 30-minute car ride away from the center of the city of Konjic. The vicinity of the Neretva River canyon and Prenj Mountain are great places for enriching your vacation on Boračko Lake with numerous other activities.
The possibilities are endless – from walking, cycling, quad bike riding, swimming, fishing, jogging, canoe riding, and enjoying a night under the stars with a campfire in a bungalow or a tent.
