Zulfikar Zuko Džumhur was a painter, cartoonist, and travel writer born in Konjic in 1920.
A man with a broad, open soul
The birth house of Zuko Džumhur witnesses the famous man from Konjic, an unprecedented travel writer and author, a man with an open mind and big heart, for whom the whole world was just one courtyard. The museum exhibits numerous Zuko caricatures, paintings, awards, published and unpublished manuscripts, and original costumes worn by Zuko. In addition, in the museum, you can find numerous pictures of Zuko’s family, friends, writers and other people Zuko met in his life.
Through its activities, the birth house of Zuko Džumhur strives to revive the image and work of this famous man from Konjic and to preserve from oblivion everything that future generations can proudly represent in the world. Zuko Džumhur’s house has been owned by the City of Konjic since 1984.
Zuko died on November 27, 1989, in Herceg Novi, and was buried on November 29 in Konjic, his hometown.
