“Diverse Offer at the 19th Agricultural Days of the City of Konjic in Buturović-Polje”

18/09/2025by Welcome to Konjic0 comments

“Around 50 exhibitors took part in the 19th Agricultural Days in Buturović-Polje today, showcasing agricultural products, fruit and vegetable preserves, dairy products, honey, and medicinal herbs. Most of the exhibitors came from the Neretvica area, which suffered severe damage during the flash floods in October last year. Despite this, the residents of Neretvica managed to produce high-quality products.”

“Izeta Macić, a member of the Organizing Committee of the 19th Agricultural Days of the City of Konjic in Buturović-Polje, confirmed that 46 exhibitors took part in the fair, which, according to her, exceeded expectations.”

“This is the 19th time we are holding the Agricultural Days of the City of Konjic, and this year’s fair featured 46 exhibitors, which we are very proud of. Considering the challenging weather conditions that affected this agricultural year, including drought and other adverse conditions, the number of exhibitors has exceeded our expectations.”

“Our agricultural producers showcased a wide selection of raw materials and processed products at their stands. This event plays an important role for our city, particularly for the Neretvica Valley and the local community of Neretvica. This year especially, due to the adverse weather conditions we experienced last October, namely the natural disaster of floods.”

“‘Given this situation, we need to make an even greater contribution to this event and to the agricultural producers in this area,’ Macić stated.”

“Muamer Boloban, who lives in the village of Obri, exhibited dairy products at his stand.”

“‘So far, we have been producing goat cheese, keeping sheep and goats, and the new development is that we have started cattle farming. We produce cheeses, butter, and clotted cream. We have four cows and around 200 sheep and goats. It is possible to make a living from livestock farming, of course it requires extra work, but now we also receive incentives from the City of Konjic, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina,’ Muamer stated.”

“Longtime farmer Rasim Mezet from Gorana, among other things, grows tomatoes that can sometimes weigh up to one and a half kilograms.”

“‘I have been engaged in agriculture for thirty years. I come to the fair, sell a few products, meet new people, and some learn about me and come back, and everything is homemade. I attend the fair every year, and I have been a member of the Association of Agricultural Societies since its founding,’ Rasim said.”

“Ramiza Demirović, her husband Muharem, and other family members are involved in agricultural activities in the village of Obri.”

“‘We planted 1,000 tomato plants, and we have sheep, cows, chickens—everything a farmer might have. We grow for ourselves, and whatever is left over, we sell at the markets. I enjoy going to fairs so people can see what we do and that everything is homemade, not sprayed, and we also receive incentives for our apples,’ Ramiza stated.”

“The organizers also arranged a prize draw for the farmers, in which three cash vouchers were awarded. Sejdo Hakalović won a voucher worth 2,000 BAM, Mediha Hodžić received one worth 1,500 BAM, and Hamdija Kovačić received a voucher worth 1,000 BAM. They stated that they would use the money for agricultural activities.”

“As part of the agricultural fair in Buturović-Polje, sports competitions were also held, and the organizers provided prizes for the most successful participants.”
