”Konjic Food Fest 2023”

Yesterday in Konjic, the food festival “Konjic Food Fest” was held and organized by the Union of Agricultural Associations Konjic with the patronage of the City of Konjic and the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.

The food festival was jointly opened by Hamdo Tinjak, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Donko Jović, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the HNC, Osman Ćatić, Mayor of Konjic City and Nusret Avdibegović, President of the Union of Agricultural Associations Konjic.

– This is an extremely valuable fair event, which I enjoy visiting because of its rich content. I think it deserves our attention and support – said Hamdo Tinjak, secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, congratulating the hosts on the organization.

– Nurturing the basic values of life and work, that guide us to the survival of each individual and the community as a whole, and creating preconditions for the growth of new, healthy generations in Konjic and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and this year we can proudly say that Konjic represents the most valuable, which are those who produce food, transforming that activity into art.

– Presenting hard-working people who grow fruit and vegetables in their fields, and raise livestock, to produce dairy and meat products, honey, and teas, which, by processing them into salty and sweet delicacies, make them recognizable products of the Konjic region, is our long-term goal, which we achieve through this event, and we make activities related to food production and processing attractive to young people who are looking for their place under this Herzegovinian sky. Apart from the traditional hospitality of the people of Konjic, the gastronomic atmosphere is also what brings guests to our city, that’s why we are all happy to visit the Food Festival today – said Mayor Ćatić.

Food Fest Konjic 2023 was an opportunity for the students of the Konjic Hospitality and Tourism School, who are training to become chefs, to compete in making apple pie, for which they were awarded, and the organizer also presented prizes for the most beautifully decorated stand, the best assortment of products, the best-packaged product and the largest grown product.

The festival is a great opportunity for all of us to show what we produce as well as to socialize with our fellow citizens and guests of Konjic today. I am very satisfied with the organization and sales – said Semina Lepara from Konjic, who is engaged in the production and processing of vegetables.

Today, Vezira Halilović, who sold sheep’s milk products processed by her family, which breeds sheep on Visočica mountain, is also satisfied with the sales. As stated by the Vezira, the great demand today was for cheese from the bellows, hurdenjaci and other milk products.
