5th International Folklore Creativity Festival “Konjička Sehara”

06/08/2025by Welcome to Konjic0 comments

On August 7th, members of 22 cultural and artistic associations from across the country and abroad will gather in Konjic.

The International Folklore Creativity Festival “Konjička Sehara” will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, organized by the Cultural and Artistic Society Preporod Konjic, as part of the “Konjic Summer” and the Diaspora Days program “Konjic in the Heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” under the patronage of the City of Konjic.

As in previous years, a parade through the city center will take place prior to the performances of the cultural and artistic ensembles, announced Amer Ćukas, Secretary of BZK Preporod Konjic, on behalf of the organizers.

“This year, we are organizing the 25th International Folklore Creativity Festival ‘Konjička Sehara’, which will be held on August 7 at the Partizanovo Stadium. The parade is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM, while the performances and presentations of the ensembles will begin at 8:00 PM at the stadium. As in previous years, the parade route includes the gathering of participants below the High School Center, followed by a march across the Ćuprija Bridge, continuing along Maršal Tito Street to the traffic lights, and finally returning to the Partizanovo Stadium, where the ensembles will line up and prepare for the start of the festival program.”

Twenty-two cultural and artistic associations will participate in the 25th International Festival of Folklore Creativity.

This year, for the 25th International Folklore Festival, we have 22 participating cultural and artistic ensembles. Among them, six are international groups coming from Turkey, Northern Cyprus, Croatia, Albania, Romania, and two groups from Poland.

The allotted time for each ensemble’s performance is approximately five minutes, as a longer duration per group would extend the event until the early morning hours given the number of participants.

In recent years, we have limited each ensemble’s performance to 5 minutes to ensure the program finishes at a reasonable hour, as we previously had situations where events lasted until 2 or 3 a.m. Nowadays, the festival usually concludes around midnight.

Of course, this year we also expect a large number of visitors, and on this occasion, I would like to invite all our dear residents of Konjic to come to the 25th Konjička Sehara and enjoy this year’s program.

Konjička Sehara is one of the most attended events in our city, and this year it is again held under the patronage of the City of Konjic, as part of the Konjic Summer and the Diaspora Days program “Konjic in the Heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
