Young Women from Konjic Successfully Perform the Play “For Her” – A Play About Violence Against Women

14/10/2026by Welcome to Konjic0 comments

This evening, the Youth Theatre Group of the “Neretva” Amateur Theatre in Konjic performed their original play “For Her” at the cinema hall of the Konjic Public University.

The play was produced as part of the project “Local Action Plan for the Prevention of Violence in the Community,” with the aim of highlighting the importance of violence prevention and raising awareness of this issue, with the support of the Youth Council and the Pragg Foundation.

The play’s director, Armin Filipović, stated that the play addresses a difficult subject, as violence against women is a sensitive issue, but one that is nonetheless important to talk about.

“I think that tonight we managed to reach at least some people with the message we wanted to convey. I also believe it was impactful for young people to see how this issue is addressed. I am extremely satisfied, and working with these seven young women, who brought something personal to the story, was truly inspiring,” Filipović said.

“I worked with seven young women, and through this original project, we developed and wrote about some personal experiences. The process was made easier by the fact that I had seven exceptionally talented young women, in whom I see a bright future. I look forward to watching them grow and pursue their own paths, because if they were already willing to speak about this topic, I cannot imagine what could stop them,” Filipović said.

The play stars Amina Gakić, Lara Junuz, Selma Mešukić, Asja Kurtović, Maida Ćišo, Azra Kezo, and Džejlana Bajić.

“It was an honour and a privilege to perform in this play and be part of the creative process. It was an emotional experience, and we all worked closely together with Armin. There is something special about addressing such difficult topics. We are proud to have conveyed the message in the right way,” Amina said.

“It was interesting to perform in the play, and I enjoy exploring issues related to women and their rights. From an early age, everyone should learn that women and men deserve equal respect,” Asja said.

“I am extremely pleased with how we performed the play, and I hope we will have the opportunity to perform it many more times,” Lara said.

Omar Prevljak was responsible for the technical support for the play “For Her.”

The cinema hall was packed with audience members, including many young people, who praised the cast’s performance and rewarded them with a resounding round of applause.
