Tomorrow, 116 exhibitors from Konjic and various cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina will gather at SRC “Partizanovo”. Visitors can look forward to a wide variety of offerings.

A record number of exhibitors at the 15th anniversary “Konjic Food Fest”
On the eve of the 15th anniversary Konjic Food Fest, which will be held tomorrow, October 9, at the Partizanovo Sports and Recreation Center, we spoke with Alma Huseinbegović Radmanić, Director of the Association of Agricultural Cooperatives of Konjic. This year’s edition records a record number of registered participants, and according to the Director, interest was exceptionally high from the very first day of registration.
“The fair will open at 7:00 a.m. for exhibitors so they can set up their stands. From 9:00 a.m., the fair will be open to visitors, and the official opening ceremony is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. We are expecting 116 exhibitors across 111 tables. Of course, there will be our local producers from Konjic, as well as exhibitors from Gradiška, Kakanj, Kozarac, Mostar, Prozor, Jablanica, Visoko, Bihać, Gračanica, and other places. We have a large number of registered small businesses, women’s associations, and individual agricultural producers who operate registered farms,” said Huseinbegović Radmanić.
In addition to a rich selection of local products, this year’s visitors will once again enjoy culinary specialties prepared by students of the hospitality school, who will be cooking purely for enjoyment, without any competitive pressure.
“We have a special surprise that we’ll reveal on the day of the fair itself, and I would also like to highlight our three traditional awards: one for the most beautifully decorated stand, one for the best product display, and one for the best-packaged product. The students of the Konjic Secondary Hospitality School won’t have a stress test this time — instead, they will be cooking traditional Bosnian dishes purely for enjoyment, which both exhibitors and visitors will have the chance to taste,” emphasized the Director of the Association.
The festival also carries an important economic dimension, serving as a platform for business networking and for strengthening agricultural production and the local economy.
“Our main goal is to strengthen agricultural production. Our producers need to focus more on processing, as primary production alone is not financially sufficient for their sustainability. We’ve also had cases where we connected local agricultural producers with hospitality and tourism businesses, and both sides were extremely satisfied with the results of that cooperation,” added Huseinbegović Radmanić.
This year’s Konjic Food Fest is being held under the patronage of the City of Konjic, and a rich and engaging program is expected to attract a large number of visitors and lovers of traditional local food.

With dances, songs, and costumes from different parts of the world, the jubilee “Konjička Sehara” brought together hundreds of participants and thousands of spectators – celebrating a tradition that bridges generations and cultures.
As part of the “Konjic Summer” event and the Diaspora Days “Konjic in the Heart of BiH,” the 25th Konjička Sehara, an international festival of folklore creativity and one of the most visited events in Konjic, was held before a full audience at the Partizanovo Business and Sports Center.
This jubilee gathering brought together cultural and artistic societies from Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as guests from Turkey, Albania, Poland, Romania, Croatia, and Northern Cyprus, who treated the audience to an evening rich in traditional dances, music, and the vibrant colors of their cultures.
At the very start of the program, following the parade through the town and the ceremonial review, the hosts from the Bosniak Cultural Community “Preporod” Konjic welcomed the attendees. They have been organizing this festival for 25 years under the patronage of the City of Konjic, with the support of the Government of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, the HNC Tourist Board, and the event’s partner – Sparkasse Bank.
The program opened with performances by the youngest members of “Preporod,” symbolically showing that cultural heritage is being passed on to new generations. Throughout the evening, ensembles from various parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Donji Vakuf, Visoko, Hadžići, Jablanica, Tuzla, Sarajevo, Mostar, Kiseljak, Gornji Vakuf, and Podveležje – took turns on stage, along with international guests who arrived in Konjic from Łęczyca, Ankara, Durrës, Nedelišće, as well as from Romania and Northern Cyprus.
In addition to the folklore performances, the audience had the opportunity to enjoy the musical part of the program with young Konjic native Ajdin Sultić, who performed a traditional sevdalinka.
Konjička Sehara is not just a folklore festival, but a symbol of unity, connection, and cultural exchange.
The organizers expressed special thanks to Mayor Osman Ćatić, the City of Konjic, the cantonal authorities, and the partners who continuously support this and other cultural events, making Konjic a hub of cultural activities in the region.
At the end of the evening, with a message of gratitude to all guests and visitors, the next event as part of “Konjic Summer” was announced – a concert by Adi Šoša, which will be held on Saturday, August 9, on the plaza in front of the High School.

SD “Lisičići” Konjic is organizing the 29th swimming meet “Suljo and Mujo” this Sunday.
The Sports Association “Lisičići” Konjic is organizing the cultural and sports event “Lisičići 2025,” which will include the 29th “Suljo and Mujo” swimming meet this weekend, held in memory of martyrs and fallen soldiers. On Saturday, July 19, at 7:30 PM, athletic races will be held for children up to 7 years old (born in 2018 and younger) and up to 10 years old (born in 2017, 2016, and 2015). Following the races, at 8:30 PM, Normala Band from Jablanica will perform a concert on the beach in Lisičići.
The main event of the manifestation—the swimming meet—will be held on Sunday, July 20, starting at 11:00 AM. This year, due to the lowered water level of Jablanica Lake, competitors will only participate in the 1,000-meter swimming marathon, said Mensur Duraković, Secretary of the “Lisičići” Sports Association Konjic.
“This year, we have a modified competition program due to the low water level of Jablanica Lake. We will only have distance swimming, specifically a swimming marathon in two categories. The first is for competitors aged 10 to 14, and the second for those over 14 years old. We are expecting swimming clubs from Sarajevo, Tuzla, Lukavac, Zenica, Mostar, and Novi Sad, and possibly others from the region, since we announce this competition on a regional platform dedicated to all swimming events in the Balkans. We’re also visited by swimming enthusiasts who are not active competitors but come to spend the day at Jablanica Lake,” said Duraković.
The “Suljo and Mujo” swimming meet is named in honor of two fallen soldiers, Izudin Sarajlić–Suljo and Mustafa Borić–Mujo. Through events like this, the organizers and the residents of Lisičići strive to preserve the memory of their brave fight, as well as the memory of all martyrs and soldiers who gave their lives in defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina and their homeland, said Hamdo Lepara, Vice President of the “Lisičići” Sports Association Konjic.
“This is just a small gesture we can offer them, but sometimes small things in life mean a lot. They are our pride, and to the younger generations, we must pass on the meaning of loving and defending Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Lepara.

We have everything necessary for first aid in our camp, and in the neighboring camp—just 30 to 40 meters away in a straight line—our friends from Zenica have a doctor present. We have an agreement with them that we can use the services of that doctor if needed. In addition, our local hospital and health center are always available and ready to help at any time.

“Students from Konjic studying at FIT in Mostar promote tourism in Konjic.”
“Konjic – An Adventure to Remember”
Five students from Konjic, studying at the Faculty of Information Technologies in Mostar, have been engaged in a project on the topic of tourism as part of their regular academic activities. First-year students Adna Mandžuka, Lamija Granulo, Ajla Potur, Enid Frašto, and Faris Boloban founded a marketing agency called Silverline Agency for the purposes of the course “Introduction to Marketing.”
“Our first client is the travel agency Travel Konjic. We began the project at the start of the summer semester, three months ago, and these are our final steps. Each of us had specific responsibilities when it came to the implementation of the project—we worked together as a team, and it wasn’t too difficult to carry out. The project is focused on network marketing, and since we’re all more or less familiar with it as users, most of it was already known to us—although it still needed to be shaped and structured,”
“We chose tourism as our focus because we’re all from Konjic, a town with great tourism potential and a lot to offer. Hiking, rafting on the Neretva River, and numerous historical sites make it an attractive destination. We believe tourism in Konjic can be developed even further. In addition, many events are organized in Konjic—such as the Konjic Summer Fest and Konjička Sehara—during which the town becomes a hub of activity,”
“Rafting on the Neretva River is not just a tourist attraction—it’s a beautiful experience that truly can’t be captured in a photo or described in words. It has to be lived,” said Adna Mandžuka, adding: “That’s why the slogan of our agency is ‘Konjic – An Adventure to Remember.'”
