Book “Columns from the Darkness of the Region” by Dragan Bursać Promoted in Konjic

13/10/2025by Welcome to Konjic0 comments

As part of the cultural event “Book Days Konjic 2025”, a book promotion was held in the Bosnian Room of the Konjic Public University for “Columns from the Darkness of the Region”, written by author and columnist Dragan Bursać.

The program opened with a speech by the director of the Konjic Public University, Benjamin Mušinović, who greeted the attendees and invited them to observe a minute of silence in honor of the music legend Halid Bešlić.

With Ena Osmanović moderating, the evening unfolded with powerful messages, dialogues, and reflections on the political and social processes that Bursać analyzes through his columns. “The book is a collection of columns written from 2020 to 2024, and almost into 2025. It deals with the geography of the Western Balkans, the influences that are particularly felt through Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the toxic politics known as the ‘Serbian World’ policy.”

“I came with a friend from Konjic and I have no regrets. Although the book has a darker tone and the title sounds somber, the discussion and the content of the book offered a glimmer of hope. The author reminds us that the light at the end of the tunnel is not just a phrase, but a necessity we must believe in,” said Fuad Kačapor, a visitor from Ilidža.

Dženis Macić from Konjic, who has been following Bursać’s work on social media for years, emphasized:

“I admire his dedication, especially in the environment in which he lives and works, where he is often exposed to threats. His work is one of the most important forms of resistance against attempts to undermine the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

The book promotion attracted a large number of citizens, and in addition to the featured book “Columns from the Darkness of the Region”, attendees also had access to other works by Dragan Bursać, including “PTSD Album”, “Waiting for Dylan Dog in Srebrenica”, and “The Yellow Raincoat”.
