Today, the global humanitarian race “Wings for Life World Run” was held in Konjic, organized by the Athletics Club “Pace” Konjic, which, in cooperation with Red Bull, brought this race to Konjic for the first time, placing our town on the list of global events.
On Sunday in Konjic, the global humanitarian race “Wings for Life” took place
After the start at the Stone Bridge, the race took place on the promenade along the left bank of the Neretva River.
A total of 35 participants took part in this humanitarian race in Konjic, and the organizers provided prizes for the top three finishers in both the men’s and women’s categories.
First place in the men’s category was won by Elvedin Tunović, who ran 34.3 kilometers. Second place went to Enes Efendić with 30 kilometers, and third place to Nihad Efendić with 28.08 kilometers — all from Sarajevo.
In the women’s category, first place went to Leila Hadžić from Sarajevo, who ran 25.05 kilometers. Second place was taken by Jasenka Ljubović, also from Sarajevo, with 22 kilometers, and third place went to Jasmina Maksumić from Jablanica, who ran 17.04 kilometers.
The organizer also awarded the youngest participant, Edis Tabak from Konjic, who ran 21.1 kilometers.
The president of AK Pace Konjic, Mahir Mujić, who also participated in the race, expressed his gratitude to the City of Konjic, the Konjic Police Department, the Konjic Mountain Rescue Service, Radio Konjic, as well as the volunteers who helped out today.
“This year, the ‘Wings for Life World Run’ has 314,000 participants worldwide. In Konjic, 35 runners from Konjic, Sarajevo, Mostar, Jablanica, Visoko, and other places took part, and I’m glad we were part of this major global project,” said Mujić, expressing hope that there will be even more participants next year.

Across the world, thousands of runners participate on the same day, at the same moment, and the funds raised from race entry fees and donations are directed toward research aimed at finding a cure for spinal cord injuries.
