Đuro Borbelj and Emina Alagić are the winners of the “Bingo Konjic Ten-Kilometer Race.”

The winner of the “Bingo Konjic Ten-Kilometer Race” at this year’s “Konjic Summer Fest” is Đuro Borbelj from Apatin, Serbia. Second place went to Džemal Bukvić, and third place to Ante Pokrajčić.

In the women’s category, first place was won by Emina Alagić, second place went to Dijana Manđeralo, and third place to Radmila Maksimović.

Đuro Borbelj is the national champion of Serbia in both the marathon and half-marathon, and this was his first time participating in the “Bingo Konjic Ten-Kilometer Race.” Despite the heat and challenging running conditions, Borbelj managed to secure the victory.

“My friends recommended this race to me. We came for a short tourist visit of two or three days, and I took the opportunity to run the Konjic Ten-Kilometer Race. I enjoyed the entire race, even though the course wasn’t easy – it’s quite hilly – and I think this was the first time I’ve run in 30-degree heat at 8 p.m.,” said Borbelj. “I finished the race with a time of 32 minutes and 50 seconds.”

Emina Alagić from Sarajevo defended her title as last year’s winner of the “Bingo Konjic Ten-Kilometer Race.” She completed the race in 40 minutes and 6 seconds, and as she stated, every victory is special in its own way.

“The atmosphere was fantastic. I love Konjic, and since my family roots are from this town, it’s very close to my heart,” said Alagić.

The winners of the “Ibis Relay Race” were also announced, with first place going to a brother and sister from the United States who currently live in Sarajevo.

This year, the fastest runner from Konjic was 14-year-old Edis Tabak, who was also the most successful competitor in the 14 to 19 age category.

“Bingo konjički cener” sam istrčao za 42 minute i 17 sekundi. Jako sam zadovoljan, jer sam proglašen i najbrižim Konjičaninom, i to je poseban osjećaj. Teren mi je bio poznat, jer svaki dan trčim, tako da mi je bilo lijepo”-rekao nam je ovaj mladi atletičar iz Konjica.

Semina Duran was declared the fastest female runner from Konjic. She started running recreationally four months ago and knows the race course well.

“It was tough to run, but since I know the course, I might have had a slight advantage. Running has become a hobby for me, and I enjoy it,” said Duran.

A particularly emotional moment of tonight’s event was the appearance on stage of fellow citizen Emir Honda, who suffers from cerebral palsy. With the help of his coach and parents, Emir trained for a year for the Konjic Ten-Kilometer Race, which he ran tonight alongside his mother. The organizers presented him with a medal and declared him the “fastest runner from Konjic,” meaning the moral winner, as he demonstrated strength, hard work, and perseverance in his effort to complete the race.
