Boračko Lake: A Summer Oasis of Peace and Relaxation

24/07/2025by Welcome to Konjic0 comments

Boračko Lake remains an essential summer destination once again this year, attracting visitors from across Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as the wider region. We visited the lake and captured the impressions of many satisfied guests. While people from Sarajevo are the most numerous, the lake is also a popular spot for residents of other cities throughout the country.

At the entrance to Boračko Lake, we were greeted by Miralem Pintul Lela, who is in charge of collecting the entrance fees. He praised the cleanliness of the lake and pointed out that weekends have been the busiest so far. He also explained the ticket prices.

“Daily vehicle passes are as follows: motorcycles 2 KM, small cars 5 KM, vans with up to 8 seats 15 KM, buses with up to 30 seats 25 KM, and buses with up to 50 seats 50 KM. Seasonal passes are also available: 10 KM for residents of Konjic and 30 KM for those from other municipalities,” said Pintul.

Although weekends see a high number of visitors, Pintul notes that the number of guests drops as soon as the temperature falls. He points out that many locals from Konjic, as well as residents staying in trailers at the campsite, spend the entire summer at the lake, enjoying its natural beauty.

Rabija from Sarajevo, a longtime visitor, says: “I come every year, sometimes twice, sometimes three times. Boračko has its own charm – the nature, the fresh air, it’s beautiful.” She especially enjoys the water and the surroundings, and her family always chooses the same beach.

Meris from Breza, who has been spending his summers at Boračko Lake for 21 years, shares his experience: “The relaxed atmosphere, nature, water, forest, and good company – that’s what draws us here.” Although he has visited many lakes and seas across Europe, he says he feels best at Boračko. He camps with his family on the main beach but also explores other parts of the lake. Currently, he plans to stay for ten days, enjoying the beautiful weather.

Almir Litrić from Kiseljak, along with his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren, has been spending three months each year at Boračko Lake (June, July, and August) for the past eight years. “A clean lake, fishing, great neighbors, a pleasant atmosphere, and a good climate. We’ve visited many lakes, but this is where we settled and truly enjoy ourselves,” says Almir. They have their own boat and pontoon, enjoy fishing, and even built an improvised oven for baking traditional pies, which has become a real attraction for guests. Almir points out that something new happens at the lake every day, which keeps boredom at bay. He says their neighbors have become like family, and many friendships have grown beyond the lake itself.

Damir from Sarajevo, who has been spending his summers at the lake with his family for 15 years, sums it up simply: “The most beautiful place in the world.” He was won over by the crystal-clear water, natural shade, and the lake’s location. He stays in a friend’s cottage and has no plans to go anywhere else. He emphasizes that he has never had any issues at the lake and finds the prices reasonable.

Boračko Lake continues to be a favorite destination for all generations, offering an ideal place to rest, relax, and create unforgettable memories in beautiful natural surroundings.
