The 7th International “Konjic Summer Fest” was officially opened this evening in Konjic. The festival is organized by the athletics club “Pace” under the patronage of the City of Konjic. The opening ceremony was led by Nermin Nikšić, Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who welcomed all participants and wished them a pleasant stay in Konjic, hoping they would leave with lasting and beautiful memories of the city.

“It is an honor for me to open the 7th ‘Konjic Summer Fest,’ and I’m pleased to see such a large number of participants. We need more gatherings like this—opportunities to connect and get to know each other. I hope you make the most of these three days and enjoy the festival here in Konjic,” said Prime Minister Nikšić.
The race participants were also greeted by Edin Višća, Director of Promotion, Sales, and Support at BH Telecom, the sponsor of the business run.
“BH Telecom is a socially responsible company that supports a range of projects in the fields of sports, culture, and the arts. That is exactly why we are here in Konjic today. Our cooperation has been ongoing for several years, and I can announce that we will continue this partnership in the future,” said Višća.
Mahir Mujić, Director of “Konjic Summer Fest,” welcomed the participants of the business run and also expressed gratitude to everyone who helped and supported the organization of the festival.
“Thank you for coming and taking the time to participate in the business run. Together, we are sharing great stories, and I especially want to thank the City of Konjic and Mayor Osman Ćatić, who recognized our vision for this event. I also extend my gratitude to the cantonal ministries of education, finance, and the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Konjic truly has a lot to offer from a tourism perspective, and we will certainly bring even more people to our city in the coming years,” emphasized Mujić.
The team Atom from Sarajevo is the winner of the “BH Telecom Business Run.”
On the first evening of the “Konjic Summer Fest,” the “BH Telecom Business Run” took place, bringing together 41 companies and 400 participants from across Bosnia and Herzegovina. The first place was won by the team Atom from Sarajevo, second place went to the team M-Bike Sarajevo, and the third place was secured by the team Powerade.
In the individual competition, the first place in the women’s category was won by Hana Habibija from Konjic, while in the men’s category, Amir Muminović from Cazin took first place.

Event Program: Konjic Town Days
All events within the Konjic Town Days celebration have been adapted to reflect the events of the past eight months in the Konjic area, a period marked by intensive efforts to overcome the difficulties caused by the October floods, landslides, and rockfalls.
Konjic Town Days are an opportunity to showcase, through various events, that Konjic proudly preserves its tradition, art, and sense of community.
The program was officially opened on May 26 with the celebration of Family Day and the Futurea Festival. Following that, children from the Zulejha Begeta Kindergarten and the Second Primary School organized an excursion to Vrtaljica.
Tonight’s program features a Night of Ballet and Creative Dance, performed by students of the Resonance Elementary Music School. The event begins at 7:30 PM in the Cinema Hall of the National University.
On Thursday, June 12, 2025, continuing a cherished tradition, the Igman Konjic Karate Club will perform kata routines set to music at 10:00 AM on the square next to the City Administration building. Following that, at 10:30 AM, the program With Love from the Town will take place, featuring performances by children from the Happy Kids Preschool and the Zulejha Begeta Kindergarten in Konjic.
On Friday, June 13, at 2:00 PM, a formal reception will be held in the Town Administration Hall to honor the top graduates from primary and secondary schools. At 2:30 PM, another reception will recognize recipients of the Dean’s and Rector’s Awards, Silver and Gold Badges, University Commendations, and students with a grade point average of nine or higher.
Then, on June 14 at 8:00 AM, the “Borašnica on Prenj” hiking trip will take place, organized by the Borašnica Mountaineering Society.
On the same day, June 14, at 9:00 AM, the Women’s Basketball Festival will be held, organized by ŽKK Konjic.
At 8:00 PM on Saturday, June 14, the premiere of the comedy “Kvačilo Offside” by the Neretva Konjic Amateur Theatre will take place.
On Monday, June 16, at 9:00 AM, a visit to the memorial site is scheduled. At 10:00 AM, the Official Session of the Konjic Town Council will take place, followed by a ceremony at 11:00 AM in the Konjic Sports Hall. During the ceremony, special attention will be given to all those who contributed through their efforts during and after the October floods. Regarding this, the Mayor of Konjic, Osman Ćatić, states:
“Remembering everything that happened to us and the way our fellow citizens, as well as people from across Bosnia and Herzegovina and around the world, responded to the disaster that struck not only the town of Konjic but also other local communities throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, the goal of the city administration and myself personally is to express our gratitude to all those who stood with the people of Neretvica and Konjic during those difficult times. For this reason, as part of the Konjic Town Days, a special ceremony will be held where we will strive to thank everyone who, in any way, contributed to helping our fellow citizens during that period. Considering that during that challenging time for Konjic we were mostly on the ground working hard, we may not have recorded all the people involved, so we kindly ask everyone who was there for the town of Konjic and our fellow citizens to come forward and get in touch with us.”
On June 17, starting at 10:00 AM, the most beautiful kindergarten balcony will be selected as part of the “May Rose” project on the waves of Radio Konjic.
On Thursday, June 19, at 9:00 AM, in the Town Council’s Ceremony Hall, awards will be presented to students and mentors for their achievements in cantonal and federal competitions.
On Saturday, June 21, at 10:00 AM, Scout Meetings will take place, followed by a concert at 7:30 PM by the Resonance Elementary Music School.
The last two events are book promotions.
On Monday, June 23, 2025, at 8:00 PM, the book promotion of “Sunce rodnog kraja” by Sadik Alić will be held in the Bosnian Room of the National University. On Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 8:00 PM, the book “Semiotics of Bosnia” by Professor Dr. Sanadin Lavić will be promoted in the Bosnian Room of the National University, organized by the Bosniak Cultural Community.

Carnival of children’s smiles
If you visit Konjic in the last week of the year, then you will probably witness the New Year’s cultural brand of the Konjic city. It is about the “Carnival of Children’s Smiles”, the most beautiful New Year’s fairy tale in Konjic, which thanks to new contents and activities, from year to year has an increasing number of children participating. This event entertains the kids, combining their interests, skills and euphoria, in sharing joy, games and surprises, with each other.
The event is usually supported by the City of Konjic, the Police Department of Konjic, companies, shops, media, citizens, and parents. Creative preparation activities in Santa’s workshop, cheerful music, smiling children and adults faces, colorful costumes, packages, and additional surprises, are indispensable contents that become part of the carnival every year, with standard parades through the city.
In case of bad weather, there is no fear, because the organizers NGO “Volunteers and Friends of the Konjic Region” always have a plan B, to satisfy the wishes of the little ones, who joyfully and impatiently await the beginning of the carnival. Masked parents and friends of our little ones are not something that should surprise you, because the euphoria of this event not only wins the hearts of the youngest but also adults, of all ages.
Since December 2022, this event is included as part of the Winter City of Konjic program.
