,,Winter city” in Konjic

22/12/2023by Welcome to Konjic0 comments

The city of Konjic, in partnership with the National University of Konjic, the Sports Hall, the Youth Council and the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Environmental Protection of the Croatian National Academy of Sciences, is organizing the third “Winter City” event which will take place from December 23 to January 15, 2024. This year, all visitors can expect a rich music and entertainment program for all generations, said Orhan Tucović, president of the event’s organizing committee.

“The city of Konjic, primarily for the sake of its citizens, but also for our intention to be a tourist destination throughout the year, is organizing the “Winter Town” again this year. The program will mainly be held on the Small Square near the City Administration, and throughout the event, we will promote local performers, and children from our schools and kindergartens will participate in the activities. I am sure that everyone will find something for themselves and that “Winter City” will be an excellent manifestation for everyone’s preference,”– said Tucović.

The event begins on Saturday, December 23rd at noon, with the pre-program, i.e. the “Carnival of Children’s Smiles”, organized by the “Volunteers and Friends of the Konjic Region” Association. The official opening is on Monday, December 25 at 7 p.m., with a concert by musicians of Konjic, said Sabina Ćukle, a member of the Organizing Committee.

“With the program called “Made in Konjic”, i.e. the concert of musicians from Konjic performed by “Dado Macić and the band”, which is supported by the National University of Konjic, we open the official program of the “Winter City” manifestation. We invite all fellow citizens to come and enjoy the concert, and a gastronomic offer will also be prepared, all so that our citizens will be interested and come to this event,” said Ćukle.
As part of the “Winter City”, numerous other musical and entertainment events will be held, which will be enjoyed by all the people of Konjic, as well as guests from abroad. This year’s noveltyž is the organization of free transportation from four directions so that residents from more distant places of the City of Konjic could also attend the program content, stated Orhan Tucović, president of the Organizing Committee of the “Winter City” event.

“The first direction will be from the village of Zukići, through Podorašac and Ovčari, to Konjic. The second is from the village of Glavatičevo through Bijela and Glavičine, to Konjic, the third direction is Buturović Polje-Lisičići-Konjic and the fourth is Ribići-Radešine-Čelebići-Konjic. Also, the mayor wants to motivate and reward our students, so this year we will also organize trips to the Olympic mountains and a visit to the Olympic swimming pool in Otoka in Sarajevo is also planned,” Tucović emphasized.

This year, a new stage was purchased to hold concerts, and a lot of effort was invested in decorating the city streets with lights and New Year’s decorations. Also, it is planned that this year an installation in the form of a carriage will be placed on the plateau next to the Stone Bridge, which will be an ideal place for photography.
