The vocal ensemble “Rezonanca” is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a grand concert.

This year, the vocal ensemble “Rezonanca” celebrates a significant milestone – 25 years on the music scene. On this occasion, they will give a concert for fellow citizens on Friday, February 13, at 7:00 PM, in the Cinema Hall of the Narodni univerzitet Konjic, under the symbolic title “For Our Soul, For Our Loved Ones.” Speaking to Radio Konjic about their unbreakable friendship and a musical journey spanning a quarter of a century were the ensemble’s president, Biljana Handžo, and member Samra Banda.

Speaking about what has kept the ensemble together all these years, President Biljana Handžo emphasizes that the key word is precisely – soul.

“Look, 25 years… that means the children of our members are now already attending music school. It’s an enormous period, a quarter of a century. A great story has been created, and we don’t even really know how to boast about everything we’ve accomplished. We simply work and live these 25 years, without looking back, focusing only on what comes next. It has been a beautiful quarter of a century of pure beauty,” emphasizes Biljana Handžo.

More Than a Choir – An Unbreakable Family

For the members of “Rezonanca,” rehearsals are much more than learning notes. They are a safe space where life’s challenges and joys are shared, which gives the ensemble its distinctive energy that they convey to the audience.

“We are together in our private lives as well – from celebrating birthdays and anniversaries to New Year’s Eve. Sometimes we even resemble a little ‘masonic lodge’ to ourselves, because we are there for each other in all life’s situations. The singing only begins after half an hour of conversation. We have gone through maternity breaks, health issues, and everything life brings. The essence lies in that mutual love,” explains Biljana Handžo.

A Gift for the City and Beloved People

Ensemble member Samra Banda emphasizes that the idea for the concert came from a desire to thank everyone who has supported them throughout their many years of work.

“We wanted to create a concert for all those who matter to us – close family and friends who have supported us. We set the date, Friday the 13th, which is also symbolic, and decided to give the city what we have been creating for years. We know that the people of Konjic have welcomed us,” says Samra Banda, adding that the ladies of the ensemble are their own harshest critics, holding themselves to the high standards once set by Maestro Ragib Habibija.

What Awaits Us on Friday?

Instead of a strictly classical choral program, “Rezonanca” is opting for a more relaxed repertoire and direct interaction with the audience for this jubilee performance.

“The audience will have the opportunity to hear well-known pieces they can sing along to,” said the president of the vocal ensemble, Biljana Handžo.

In the end, they warmly urged their fellow citizens to visit the Cinema Hall on Friday, warm up their vocal cords, and enjoy the music “for their soul” together with them.
