The 24th edition of the High School Drama Festival of Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized by AP “Neretva” Konjic, will be officially opened tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. in the cinema hall of NU Konjic. Ida Daguda, Secretary of AP “Neretva” Konjic, says that the final preparations for the festival are underway.

“Preparations are certainly underway, and as we approach the start of the festival, there is always the most work to be done. However, together with our volunteers and members, we are truly making an effort to provide the festival participants with an unforgettable experience. It is a demanding task, but one we all carry out with a sense of joy and anticipation for the day when we will officially open the festival. I believe that both the participants, as well as our volunteers and members, will be satisfied with this year’s organization,” said Daguda.

This year, 13 performances will be staged at the festival. Theatre and high school groups are coming from across Bosnia and Herzegovina, all united by a shared love for the art of theatre, through which they seek to highlight important social issues.

“In total, there are 12 performances, not including the play ‘Eight Women’ by AP ‘Neretva’ Konjic, which will be performed on the first day of the festival at 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, April 18, the First Gymnasium Sarajevo will present itself to the Konjic audience with the play ‘In the Land of Certificates and Diplomas’ at 11:30 a.m. On the same day, the Gymnasium ‘Musa Ćazim Ćatić’ from Tešanj will also perform with the play ‘When the Opanak Meets the Slipper’ at 5:30 p.m.”

On Sunday, April 19, at 11:30 a.m., the Citizens’ Association “Aplauz” from Živinice will perform “Romeo and Juliet”, and later that day at 5:30 p.m., the Cultural Center “Theatre Derventa” will stage the play “Playground of Dreams.”

On Monday, April 20, we will also welcome a group from Živinice – the Acting School of the Public Institution “Bosnian Cultural Center” Živinice – who will perform the play “Sequence” at 11:30 a.m. Later that same day, at 5:45 p.m., a group from the Catholic School Center “St. Francis” in Tuzla will present the play “Believe Me.”

On Tuesday, April 21, at 11:30 a.m., we will watch the Youth Theatre Bijeljina perform “When We Were Our Age.” Later that same day, the Livno Gymnasium will stage the play “Hasanaginica” at 5:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, April 22, our partner theatre, Teatar FEDRA from Bugojno, will perform “Oliver Twist” at 11:30 a.m. Later that day, at 5:30 p.m., we will also watch the Gymnasium “Rizah Odžekić” from Zavidovići with their play “The Road That Brought Me Home.”

On Thursday, April 23, at 11:30 a.m., the Cultural Center Žepče will perform the play “Epitaph.” Later that day, at 5:30 p.m., we will watch the play “Alienated,” prepared by the dedicated young participants from the Public Institution Cultural and Sports Center Kakanj.

On the final day of the festival, April 24, the closing ceremony and awards presentation are scheduled for 6:30 p.m.,” said Ida Daguda, Secretary of AP “Neretva” Konjic.

During the festival, workshops for young actors will also be held. In addition to a themed workshop on peer violence, led by actor Armin Filipović, drama workshops will also be organized and conducted by members of the expert jury: Damir Kustura, Saša Peševski, and Emina Šehić.
