The National Championship in Olympic Triathlon will also be held on Saturday,
110 participants will gather for the third Green Lake Triathlon in Lisičići, which starts on Saturday, July 19 at 4 PM, confirmed Amar Borić, the secretary of the Triathlon Club Feniks.
In addition to the sprint triathlon and Olympic triathlon, this year will also feature a relay triathlon. Just like last year, the Triathlon Club Feniks has once again been entrusted by the Olympic Committee of the Triathlon Federation to organize the National Championship in Olympic Triathlon on Saturday. On Saturday, competitors will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in the following disciplines: sprint triathlon, Olympic triathlon, and a new addition — the relay triathlon. As for the Olympic distance, it includes a 1.5 km swim. After the swim, participants will get on their bikes and ride a 40 km course in loops between Lisičići and Nevizdraci. This will be followed by a running segment from Lisičići toward Čelebići, also in loops, with a total distance of 10 km. The Olympic distance consists of a 1.5 km swim, 40 km cycling, and 10 km running. The sprint distance includes a 750 m swim, 20 km cycling, and 5 km running.
Around 70 triathletes will compete in the National Championship, while the remaining participants are from the region and will take part in the international sprint and triathlon events. Thanks to the inclusion of the relay race, amateurs also have the opportunity to participate — three individuals can each compete in one of the three disciplines and complete the race together, stated Amar Borić, secretary of the Triathlon Club Feniks.
During the competition, from 4 PM to 8 PM, traffic on the Čelebići–Nevizdraci route will be suspended.

The Homeland Association for the Protection of Historical Monuments and Cultural Heritage “Neretvica” (SIN Neretvica) is currently carrying out preparatory activities for the organization of the traditional event “Dani Neretvice.” The event will begin on Saturday with a planned excursion from the mouth to the source of the Neretvica River. Ibrahim Turak, President of the Assembly of the “SIN Neretvica” Association, announced two events that will mark the opening of the manifestation.

“As part of the event we call ‘Dani Neretvice,’ there are a total of six activities, two of which will take place this weekend. The first event is on Saturday – an excursion from the mouth to the source of the Neretvica River, followed by a hike to Zec Mountain. The second event is on Sunday, the following day, when the traditional grass-cutting activity known as ‘kosci’ will be held in Blazine,” said Turak, emphasizing that both events will feature all-day programs.
“What follows later in the ‘Dani Neretvice’ program are the ‘Evening of Bećarac and Ganga’ and an excursion to Velike Vode via Bitovinja, then the ‘Chestnut Festival’ (Kestenijada), and finally, we will have a literary evening,” Turak pointed out.
“In the area most affected by the floods, there have been certain changes in every aspect of life, which has undoubtedly impacted the work and activities of the Association. However, we are keeping all previously planned programs intact, and with the extra effort required at this moment, we will carry out everything as planned,” Turak concluded.
“Dani Neretvice” is a months-long event aimed at preserving and promoting local traditions, strengthening rural development and tourism, while also highlighting the natural beauty and cultural uniqueness of the Neretvica Valley.

The literary evening with Elvedin Nezirović opened the 4th Habitat Culture Fest at Boračko Lake.
The 4th Habitat Culture Fest was opened on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Hercegovina Lodges location. This multi-month cultural festival promotes the cultural diversity of Bosnia and Herzegovina as an integral part of European and world heritage. The festival began with a literary evening dedicated to the novel “Sandro” by author Elvedin Nezirović.

In the first program of this year’s edition, the audience heard from the author Nezirović himself, writer and moderator of the evening Adnan Repeša, and guest Adnan Žetica. The audience had the opportunity to gain interesting insights into the social layers addressed in the novel, as well as the creative process behind it.

“Habitat Culture Fest remains true to its mission of connecting creatives from the country, diaspora, and the region through literature, exhibitions, films, and dialogue. This year, we are bringing new content, all set in an environment that blends nature and culture,” the organizers stated.
We would like to remind you that the festival will continue throughout the summer with a program that includes, among other things, the photo exhibition “Man from the East” by Hadis Medenčević, the book promotion of “Deliver Us from Evil” by Marko Romić, the screening of the film “Forgive Us Our Debts” by Sergej Kreso, and the promotion of the work “The Book about Almir” by author Adisa Bašić.
The organizers also announce that all festival events will be published promptly on the official Habitat Culture Fest Facebook page.

The winner of the “Bingo Konjic Ten-Kilometer Race” at this year’s “Konjic Summer Fest” is Đuro Borbelj from Apatin, Serbia. Second place went to Džemal Bukvić, and third place to Ante Pokrajčić.

In the women’s category, first place was won by Emina Alagić, second place went to Dijana Manđeralo, and third place to Radmila Maksimović.

Đuro Borbelj is the national champion of Serbia in both the marathon and half-marathon, and this was his first time participating in the “Bingo Konjic Ten-Kilometer Race.” Despite the heat and challenging running conditions, Borbelj managed to secure the victory.
“My friends recommended this race to me. We came for a short tourist visit of two or three days, and I took the opportunity to run the Konjic Ten-Kilometer Race. I enjoyed the entire race, even though the course wasn’t easy – it’s quite hilly – and I think this was the first time I’ve run in 30-degree heat at 8 p.m.,” said Borbelj. “I finished the race with a time of 32 minutes and 50 seconds.”
Emina Alagić from Sarajevo defended her title as last year’s winner of the “Bingo Konjic Ten-Kilometer Race.” She completed the race in 40 minutes and 6 seconds, and as she stated, every victory is special in its own way.
“The atmosphere was fantastic. I love Konjic, and since my family roots are from this town, it’s very close to my heart,” said Alagić.
The winners of the “Ibis Relay Race” were also announced, with first place going to a brother and sister from the United States who currently live in Sarajevo.

This year, the fastest runner from Konjic was 14-year-old Edis Tabak, who was also the most successful competitor in the 14 to 19 age category.
“Bingo konjički cener” sam istrčao za 42 minute i 17 sekundi. Jako sam zadovoljan, jer sam proglašen i najbrižim Konjičaninom, i to je poseban osjećaj. Teren mi je bio poznat, jer svaki dan trčim, tako da mi je bilo lijepo”-rekao nam je ovaj mladi atletičar iz Konjica.
Semina Duran was declared the fastest female runner from Konjic. She started running recreationally four months ago and knows the race course well.
“It was tough to run, but since I know the course, I might have had a slight advantage. Running has become a hobby for me, and I enjoy it,” said Duran.

A particularly emotional moment of tonight’s event was the appearance on stage of fellow citizen Emir Honda, who suffers from cerebral palsy. With the help of his coach and parents, Emir trained for a year for the Konjic Ten-Kilometer Race, which he ran tonight alongside his mother. The organizers presented him with a medal and declared him the “fastest runner from Konjic,” meaning the moral winner, as he demonstrated strength, hard work, and perseverance in his effort to complete the race.

The festival will host over 1,200 participants from 15 countries competing in five different races. On the second day of the festival, Saturday, July 5, three races will be held: a children’s race with 200 young participants, the main event – the “Bingo Konjic Ten” – and the relay race “Ibis Relay Race,” with around 600 runners taking part in the two events. The third day of “Konjic Summer Fest,” Sunday, July 6, will be dedicated to families, featuring a “baby crawl race” and other fun activities for children and parents.
“Family Day will take place from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Partizanovo playground, where we’ll have large inflatable slides, trampolines, and plenty of fun for the little ones. The sweetest part of the program will be the third edition of the baby crawl race, featuring 17 babies — and for the first time, it will be held in the center of Konjic,” emphasized Mahir Mujić, Director of “Konjic Summer Fest.” He added that the festival will conclude with a diploma ceremony for the young volunteers — more than 150 of them were engaged this year through various organizations and associations. Several thousand visitors are expected to attend “Konjic Summer Fest,” where they will have the opportunity to enjoy a rich mix of sports, entertainment, music, and tourism-related events. The fourth edition of the Habitat Culture Fest, a festival that celebrates the cultural diversity of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the context of European and global heritage, will open on Saturday, July 5th, at Boračko Lake.
Elmir Prevljak, speaking on behalf of the organizer Hercegovina Lodges, said that on the first day of this year’s festival, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy the promotion of the novel Sandro by Elvedin Nezirović, one of the most widely read authors in the region.

“On Saturday, July 5th at 8 PM, at the hearth of Hercegovina Lodges at Boračko Lake, we will host Elvedin Nezirović, with Adnan Repeša, also a writer from Mostar, as the moderator,” said Prevljak.
“We don’t have a fixed budget—this is truly 100% volunteer-based,” said Prevljak. “I completely understand the artists and writers who make a living from their intellectual work, and of course it makes sense that they would go where there are honorariums and better conditions. What we offer is a great audience, a beautiful atmosphere at Boračko Lake, and some basic essentials. Believe me, out of all the artists we’ve contacted so far, only a few have declined for that reason. Most are happy to take part, which shows that the atmosphere during the Habitat Culture Fest is genuinely positive,” Prevljak said, speaking about how finances don’t always have to play the key role in organizing events.
“We’re opening the festival with Elvedin Nezirović, and we’ve arranged a presentation of the book Deliver Us from Evil by Dr. Marko Romić, which addresses the issue of gambling in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Prevljak added, announcing the upcoming events during the festival. “On the same day, there will be a screening of a film on a similar topic, directed by Bosnian-Dutch filmmaker Sergej Kreso, followed by a discussion. We’ve also scheduled a promotion of The Book About Almir, an excellent work by our own Adisa Bašić, a guest appearance by poet Šaban Šarenkapić from Novi Pazar, and a photo exhibition by Hadis Medenčević from Prague.”

The Habitat Culture Fest has become a meeting place for people who wish to nurture the diversity of Bosnia and Herzegovina as an equal part of the European cultural scene. The program of other events within the festival, which will run throughout the summer until the end of August, will be announced periodically through social media.

“The promotion of the book ‘Semiotics of Bosnia’ by Prof. Dr. Senadin Lavić, full professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Sarajevo, was held in the Bosnian Room. The book was presented by Prof. Dr. Amer Osmić and Assistant Prof. Dr. Abdel Alibegović.”
“The event was organized by BZK Preporod, the City Committee of Konjic, whose president, Sabina Ćukle, emphasized at the beginning that the promotion was held as part of the celebration of Konjic City Day.”

“Promoter Prof. Dr. Amer Osmić stated that the book ‘Semiotics of Bosnia’ is the author’s attempt to deconstruct everything imposed from the outside, particularly elements that are anti-Bosnian and that undermine the integral identity of the Bosnian individual.”
“As a society, we need to turn toward aspects related to identity and begin to understand identity as something that can be multilayered. In other words, we can possess multiple identities, yet our national identity — which may be administrative or political — is constantly being challenged. In this book, Professor Lavić, through semiotics as an auxiliary academic discipline, deconstructs the false narratives that have been imposed for centuries on the Bosnian space, undermining what truly constitutes the Bosnian domain of knowledge,” stated Prof. Osmić.

“While promoting the book ‘Semiotics of Bosnia’, Assistant Professor Dr. Abdel Alibegović stated that this is a unique work which aims to delve deeper into the analysis of our Bosnian-Herzegovinian society.”
“Professor Lavić aims to highlight all those elements that represent a denial of Bosnia — a denial of everything that is truly Bosnian — and to emphasize that it is time to speak of a concept in which Bosnian people understand themselves, rather than having others define who they should be. ‘Semiotics of Bosnia’ is a bold step forward, an attempt to analyze the current situation and to explore what should be offered to Bosnian-Herzegovinian society as progress — as something that leads us toward a peaceful and stable Bosnia and Herzegovina,” emphasized Prof. Alibegović.

“Speaking about his book, Prof. Dr. Senadin Lavić said that his intention was to gather, in one volume, knowledge about what has been happening to Bosnia since at least the year 1800 — that is, throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.”
“It is an attempt to falsify and distort Bosnia’s structure, its content, its historical existence, and its identity being, turning it into something else. You could then hear in history books that Bosnia is Serbian land, that it is old Croatian land, or the land of someone else and something else — but you never heard that Bosnia is Bosnian. So, my motto, which I introduced in my previous book, was an effort to show people that Bosnia is primarily and above all Bosnian. When we deal with semiotics, that is, with the process of semiosis and signs, it is very important to utilize the capacities of contemporary science and modern authors,” said Professor Lavić.

“When you bring some old ideas from the 19th and 20th centuries into the light and confront them with contemporary knowledge, those 19th-century ideas appear ridiculous, untrue, incorrect, and falsified. And working on exposing such ideas, such concepts, such content — which were actually ideologically motivated — is even a pleasure now. Unfortunately, we haven’t had enough intellectual and state power to oppose them. We still haven’t reached the concept of the nation as a state and civic identity, but there are already many people in academia who clearly and loudly support that concept, and if science supports it, it will enter into citizenship and everyday life,” stated the author Lavić, expressing his gratitude to BZK Preporod and Mayor Osman Ćatić for promoting the book tonight in his hometown of Konjic.
The book “Semiotics of Bosnia” by Prof. Dr. Senadin Lavić has been promoted in several cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as in Germany. The evening’s promotion was also attended by the president of BZK Preporod BiH, Prof. Dr. Sanjin Kodrić. Attendees also enjoyed a performance by members of the Accordion Orchestra from Jablanica.
