The 6th “Konjic Summer Fest” will be held in Konjic from July 5 to 7, organized by the “Pace” Konjic Athletic Club, under the auspices of the City of Konjic. Six races will be held, for which about 1,000 participants have registered, said Mahir Mujić, director of “Konjic Summer Fest”.
Konjic Summer Fest starts tomorrow
“Besides the Bingo Konjic race and the traditional children’s race, we have a business race on Friday at 6:30 p.m. that gathers around 250 participants, that is, 28 companies. After that, we have Lana Hamza’s concert in Garden City. The entrance is completely free and I invite all our citizens to come and have some fun and feel the charm of the festival. On Saturday at 11:00 a.m., we have the “GRAWE Kids Run”, a race for 200 little ones that is already full and starts from the City Market in Konjic. The central part of the event is at 7:30 p.m., where we have the “Equestrian Bingo Race” and the “Ibis Relay Race”, a male-female relay race and, for the first time in Konjic, the 10,000-meter state championship, where we have 20 of the best athletes from Bosnia and Herzegovina who will fight for the national champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina in this discipline. After that, we have a performance by Emir Lapsus at the outdoor pool in Garden City. On Sunday, we are waiting for a crawl at 6:30 p.m., and 15 babies will fight for the best crawling baby in Konjic”, stated Mujić.

“I can say that companies from the “TOP 100″ are coming to us, which we will present in the parade at 17:45. Then we have 400 participants in the 10k race called ”cener”, 100 participants in the relay, 250 participants in the business race, 200 participants in the children’s race, 15 babies in the crawling race and 20 participants in the national championship. The sponsor is the City of Konjic and I can say that I am proud of all the public institutions that supported us and I must mention our friends of the project who come from Dubrovnik, Serbia and Sarajevo to volunteer. This year we have two novelties, and that is that we have provided a bus that goes from Sarajevo to Konjic on Saturday completely free of charge, and then returns the runners to Sarajevo, and we plan to make this a tradition. We also introduced a novelty with accreditations, where we gave all participants in big races additional discounts in the city of Konjic”.
Mujić called on his fellow citizens to be patient and cooperate due to the short-term stoppage of traffic during the races, wishing that we would show ourselves as good hosts and accompany and support this project in as many numbers as possible.
This year, the following novelties await you at the Konjic Summer Fest:
- Accreditations have been introduced that are valid for all days of the festival (5th to 7th July 2024). With accreditation, participants will be able to use additional discounts at local partners.
- Free transportation to the top racing event – Konjic Summer Fest, in cooperation with the Konjic Trans company, is provided. The bus leaves on Saturday, July 6, in front of the National Museum at 2:00 p.m., stopping at the Otoka bus station and the Stup bus station. The return is scheduled for around 22:00.

The 9th Neretva Media Regatta was held
In Konjic, on the Neretva River, on the 22nd and 23rd of June, 2024, the 9th Neretva MEDIA Regatta was held, which gathered media workers from 23 Bosnia and Herzegovina media.
The novelty this year is that the regatta was not of a competitive nature, so all participants were given the opportunity to show who enjoys rafting on Neretva the most, said Samra Čomor Bekirović from the Association “Green River” Konjic, which is the organizer of the media gathering.
“In addition, we organized the night rafting for the first time. Since the European Rafting Championship was recently held on the Neretva, we used a part of the championship section, and on Saturday at 11 pm we organized a night descent, which some participants enjoyed, downstream from village Džajići. This year, we did not separate the media in the boats, so it was a mini team building within a big team building, where different media have the opportunity to meet, socialize and possibly establish cooperation” – said Samra, stating that she is looking forward to the jubilee , 10th Neretva MEDIA Regatta.
“We are glad to unite the media from both entities as we know no borders, and we hope that next year we will have a regional character because we believe this should come to life. We have three navigable rivers in Bosnia and Herzegovina and I consider the Neretva the most beautiful one to enjoy. Neretva is something special not only for Konjic but also for the country and the region, and I would invite everyone to come and see not only what Neretva has but what Konjic has,” said Samra.
Hajrudin Porić from Travnik attended with his colleagues from TV Kanal 6 and TNT Radio.
“I don’t think I’ve missed a single regatta. Night rafting was interesting this year, and I think we will do it next year as well. Neretva is great, like every year” – said Hajrudin.
The BHRT team participated in the MEDIA Regatta. This was the second participation for Vedran Prodić, journalist of BH Radio 1.
“We went for the first time last year, we wanted to try something new and we enjoyed it, and we also visited Tito’s bunker. This year we are rafting again, to enjoy the Neretva, but also to socialize. This year there was a larger team, and there will be a nice reportage in our program” – Vedran told us.
Regatta participants will publish content in their media about the attractions of the Neretva.
The 9th Neretva MEDIA Regatta was held as part of Days of Konjic City with the support of the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism and the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Konjic Scouts, organizers of “Konjic 2024 Scout Meetings”
On Saturday, June 22, 2024, the ,,Neretva” Konjic Scouts troop organized the “Konjic 2024 Scouts troops parade” which brought together 60 teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Konjic Scouts troops parade was held as a part of the manifestation ,,Days of Konjic City” and the parade was opened by the mayor of Konjic, Osman Ćatić who wished all participants a welcome and a pleasant stay in Konjic.
“I wish you a pleasant time together, to have a nice time together and take back beautiful memories from our city and return to Konjic. I congratulate the Union of Scouts of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Scout Detachment “Neretva” Konjic, the city of Konjic will always be part of such stories. We are glad that they gave this program as a gift for the birthday of the City of Konjic” – said Mayor Ćatić.
Nermin Zagorčić, president of the Association of Scouts of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Scout Leader of the “Neretva” Scouts troop, Konjic Haris Hadžizukić and Selma Hadžihusejnović, greeted those present in front of the Scout Lodge (Scout Center)
Nikola Šotić from the Scouts Troop “22.april” from Banja Luka said that they arrived in Konjic with a team of younger scouts.
“The hosts welcomed us nicely. We come every year and cooperate regularly, and it will remain so in the future. I came here a long time ago to the traditional competitions on the occasion of March 3, and I am here after many years, to see old friends. Konjic has always been a beautiful town” – said Šotić.
After the scout competitions, an award ceremony was held.

Awarded the most successful participants of the Konjic 2024 European Rafting Championship
After a three-day competition on the Neretva River in slalom, RX and downhill, the most successful competitors of the Konjic 2024 European Rafting Championship were announced tonight, ending this exceptional sports event, which brought together 30 teams from 12 countries.
The absolute winner in the men’s category is France 1, second place was won by Slovakia, and third place was Croatia 1.
The absolute winner in the women’s category is the Czech Republic 1, the second team is Italy, and the third is the Czech Republic 2.
The absolute winner in the mix category is the Italy 1 team, the second is the Czech Republic 2, and the third is the Italy 2 team.
The absolute winner in pararafting is Italy, second place was won by Romania, and third place by Ukraine.
The participants were addressed and then awarded medals and unique woodcarving cups, the work of Konjic woodcarvers, by the mayor of Konjic Osman Ćatić, European champion in body building and fitness Adnan Alagić, entrepreneur Jasmin Badžak and president of the World Rafting Federation Danilo Barmaz.
Judges at the European Rafting Championship were from 7 countries, and representatives of the World Rafting Federation congratulated on the successfully organized competition.
The director of the Konjic 2024 European Rafting Championship, Samir Krivić, thanked everyone who helped in any way to organize the competition at a high level, saying that he expects this story to continue.

Ceremonial opening of the Museum of the Lisičići Submerged Area in the open
As part of the “Days of the City of Konjic”, the mayor of Konjic, Osman Ćatić, and the president of the Association of Citizens of the Lisičići Submerged Area, Hamdo Lepara, officially opened the open-air Museum of the Lisičići Submerged Area in this settlement. The ceremony was attended by numerous guests and dignitaries from the public and political, cultural, sports and religious life of the City of Konjic and Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. The museum, which is located on the right bank of the Jablanica lake, on the famous beach in Lisičići, consists of five panels showing the creation of Lisičići from the Neolithic period until the time of its submergence in 1952. As Hamdo Lepara, the president of the mentioned association, said, Lisičići existed before 5000 BC. and it is a settlement that cherishes its history, culture and tradition.
“We preserve what is sacred to us, which is our past if we want to have a brighter and better future. We want our young generations, together with all of us, to know how rich this is,” – said Lepara.
The mayor of Konjic, Osman Ćatić, praised the work of the association and its members, i.e. the residents of Lisičići, who work hard to preserve the history of this region and its tourist promotion.
“They have continuity in their work and a desire to present their settlement in the best possible way. On behalf of the City of Konjic and the people of Konjic, I congratulate them on these activities, because in a way, what they imagine and wish for, they do it, as is the case with this museum today,” – said Mayor Ćatić.
Džafer Alić, president of the Assembly of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, attended today’s ceremony, and in his address he pointed out the importance of such projects.
“This is a small ‘cube’ (piece) of our identity, existence and continuity in these areas and certainly every event is important. What I want to point out is that as much as we as politicians, as those whom you tasked to work at that level, you do a lot more with projects like this. We would like to see as many activities as possible when it comes to this topic and the development of our small places and cities,” – Alić said.
Today, the hosts also awarded certificates of appreciation to the institutions, organizations and individuals who contributed to the opening of the Lisičići Open Air Museum of the Sunken Area. All visitors that the road brings to Lisičići will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the archaeological sites and exhibits found in the area in one place, but also to learn about the sinking of Lisičići, which for many residents was one of the most tragic events in the history of its existence.
The event was held as part of Konjic City Days, with the technical realization of the National University of Konjic.

Last night, the European Rafting Championship was officially opened in Konjic, organized by the Rafting River Guide club and Garden City Hotel Konjic, with the approval of the World Rafting Federation and with the support of the BiH Olympic Committee, under the auspices of the City of Konjic. Federal Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić, Mayor of Konjic Osman Ćatić, Vice President of the World Rafting Federation Boris Purjakov and Director of the European Rafting Championship Samir Krivić jointly opened the championship by cutting the ribbon, who at the beginning of the ceremony greeted all those present and wished them a successful competition and a pleasant stay in Konjic.

“The organization of the race is at the world level, and the Neretva, with its natural beauty, is a unique pearl of this area. I was particularly impressed by the night track, which is really beautiful and gives a completely new dimension to the whole event. I wish everyone a successful competition and I hope for the tradition of establishing the competition organization on the Neretva” – said Purjakov.
Even Samir Krivić, director of the European Rafting Championship in Konjic, did not hide his happiness and satisfaction at the successful organization of the competition.
“Our city and the Neretva River really deserve to be high on the scale of the world rafting story. This is a fact and we have proven it,” – said Krivić.
Teams from: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Italy, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina (which will have two teams from Konjic and Zenica) will participate in the European Rafting Championship.
